After successfully running Bad Boys: Ride or DieSony Pictures will get back into business Martin Lawrence Developing a sequel to the 1999 buddy action comedy Blue Streak.
The project’s script is currently being written by Cole Masika, and Deadline reports that the film is in the early stages of development with no other talent involved.
In the original film, Lawrence played Miles Logan, a jewelry thief who, after a failed robbery, hides a stolen diamond in the ventilation shaft of a building under construction.
Two years later, Myers was released from prison and discovered the building was now a police station. To retrieve the diamond, he impersonates an LAPD officer and goes undercover as a detective.
As he takes on the role, his street smarts and quick thinking inadvertently make him a famous cop, complicating his plans to recover the gems.
I remember the first movie being funny, but I haven’t seen it in a long time, and only once. After all these years, do we need a sequel? No, but maybe something interesting will come out of it.
Lawrence also co-produced the film robert lawrence, Ray Proctor and Stacey Lyles also Toby Jaffe.
Heard we’re getting one blue stripes sequel!
