FilmQuest, one of the largest genre film festivals in the world and one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” in 2024, kicks off its 11th season this week in downtown Provo, starting October It lasts ten days from the 24th to November 2nd.
The theme of the festival is projects from and featuring Ed Harris, Joel McHale, Felicia Day, Doug Jones, Barbara Crampton, Tony Todd, Tobin Bell, Patricia Heaton, Christopher Fernandez, Donal Rogge, Peter Stroman, Katie Parker, Danny Trejo, FilmQuest is screening more than 300 films this season, including features and shorts from 30 countries, showcasing the industry’s hottest and most promising genre filmmaking talent.
“Each year, in the heart of Utah, FilmQuest continues to exceed expectations and capture the attention of the entire film industry as it firmly establishes itself as the world’s greatest genre film festival,” said the festival’s founder and director. “one of the status” Jonathan Martin.

One of the many highlights of this program full of female filmmakers includes the world premiere of the highly anticipated film Joanna Chanis Killing Grimma sci-fi comedy from Stimson Snead Tim Travers and the time traveler’s paradox, Angela Gurnersupernatural thriller Beldem HotelAn epic animated feature film entirely animated by one person, world dividespace horror film demon, Rachel KaneA mind-bending sci-fi experience a dreamand an alien invasion movie starring Tony Todd and Tobin Bell bunker.
Labs and workshops from publishers, podcasters, and industry veterans, including Kathryn Lyn, Hugo Award-nominated author and Star Wars: Strange New Worlds writer and producer.

The event will conclude with the Audiovisual Awards Ceremony on November 2, where the coveted Cthulhu Trophies will be awarded to the winners in the feature, short, student film, animation and music video categories.
