20 years ago, SyFy (still called the Sci-Fi Channel) premiered a hidden camera prank show called Scare tactics. The premise behind the series is to put real people into scary, often supernatural or bizarre situations and watch their reactions. I loved this show when I was younger. I’m so happy this Halloween season Scare tactics Returning with a seemingly bigger budget under the direction of horror master Jordan Peele.
this new season Scare tactics Make some changes to the format. This time, the show is hosted by Flip, rather than a random celebrity like Shanon Doherty or Tracy Morgan. flip description As a “ghostly teenager obsessed with horror movies and fascinated by human fears.” I’m not sure the Flip, with its giant TV head and off-brand Cryptkeeper vibe, actually works, but that’s okay too. Scare tactics It’s gone through multiple host changes and various visual reinventions over the past two decades, but that hasn’t diminished the real joy of the show: watching random people thrown into scary and bizarre situations, See what happens. Thankfully, this new version Scare tactics Doesn’t mess with that aspect of the formula at all.
of the first episode Scare tacticsnow available (along with episode 2) on YouTube is the perfect return for the new series, as it shows that this version of the show can tackle crazy supernatural shenanigans as well as more tense, slower-paced shenanigans.
In the first prank, a man ends up being a witness to a wedding featuring a pregnant woman and her husband. But slowly it became apparent that these people might be part of a devil-worshiping cult and that her children were not human. Another prank from the first episode Scare tactics The protagonist is invited to a luxurious dinner featuring exotic cuisine. Eventually, the meal changed and he was served what he thought was human flesh. The tension of whether he will eat it or not as the actors teasing him is wonderful.
This is the second episode of the show, which features some WWE Superstars and a creepy doll that leads someone to a deadly clown.
Of course, every prank ends with someone revealing the truth to the victim and letting them relax and laugh at what just happened. It’s always nice to see the immediate change in people when their brains realize they’re not in danger and are actually just playing prank. The mixture of anger, relief and joy always makes me giggle.
Scare tactics It’s a perfect performance halloween (this Old pranks also appear on YouTube) because it’s like a collection of horror anthology movies from many genres, but starring real people who have real and varied reactions to the horrific events around them.
Scare tactics A perfect show to watch with friends as a palette cleanser between horror movie marathons. It will have you laughing and debating who in your group is the most scared of a certain prank. like candid filmingbut with more demon babies and bloodlines. I’m so glad it’s back just in time for Halloween.
