Tension, intrigue and plenty of action are at the heart of NCIS Season 22 Episode 1.
Torres goes missing undercover and Jesse holds a priest hostage (yes, a priest!
Amidst all the chaos, however, there’s one thing that matters most: the team is back! Honestly? This is just what we need to start the new season!
California Dream? I think not
Let’s face it – does anyone really think Jesse would be content with the California Dream?
Sure, she got that shiny promotion after the cartel incident, but it’s clear her heart is back in D.C. with her team and Jimmy (I mean, they’re literally counting the days apart) day).
It almost seemed like fate when Torres went missing undercover. Of all places, he was on assignment in California – where Jesse happened to be.
coincide? I doubt it.
Parker was always three steps ahead, and it would be no surprise if he orchestrated it, because he Know His team, even though he only joined for three years. anywhere. Please keep this in mind.
Even after six months away, Jesse’s loyalty to the NCIS family remains unwavering. Technically, it doesn’t matter whether she’s part of REACT or not – Parker knows how to bring her back.
When Jesse learns the details, he doesn’t hesitate to step in and help save Torres. It doesn’t matter that her intern might be involved – it’s just an excuse for her to get back into action.
It’s almost funny how things turned out, but it all comes down to one fact: Jessie belongs on our team, and she knows it.
Jump back
So, how did Jesse end up back on NCIS? Well, it started when Torres disappeared.
Jesse is busy living her new life when she finds herself in a pretty crazy situation – kidnapping a priest. And not just any pastor. She was convinced that this man was El Padre, the leader of the Nexus cartel.
Of course, Parker was in on her plan as usual.
But he kept things even, making sure to cover his base so he wouldn’t get caught in the crossfire if things went wrong.
It turns out Jesse was right – Reverend Reverend Edward Pike was indeed El Padre, hiding in plain sight.
How interesting is it that Father El is actually a priest? Sometimes the most obvious answer is the right answer.
Hiring an attorney was a smart move, since it turns out she’s the one with ties to the drug cartel – not Jesse’s intern Agent Moreno – even though Moreno’s husband has ties to the deadly organization.
This adds another layer of complexity and sets up a major twist for the season, especially when we learn that neither the attorney nor Moreno are NCIS mole suspects!
mole
So, who is the traitor? Buckle up, because this is truly shocking — Inspector General Gabriel LaRoche!
I mean, it all makes sense once it’s all laid out, but this reveal adds a whole new layer of drama to this season’s plot.
You know this will make things more complicated.
To make matters worse, McGee was not offered the deputy director position. Not because he was unqualified, but because LaRoche swooped in and grabbed the job!
Now McGee is in a tricky spot. Will he tell Director Carroll his suspicions, or play it safe for now?
Either way, this creates some serious tension for the team. What advice would Parker make? How would Torres react?
Let’s not forget about Jesse – she’s still in the dark as she wasn’t present for the big reveal, but you know she won’t be thrilled once she finds out.
One thing is for sure: this team will protect itself at all costs. Laroche better watch his back, because he doesn’t know what he’s dealing with!
Things are definitely going to get messy, and it’s only a matter of time before this breaks out.
The reunion we’ve been waiting for
While all this action and drama is happening, we’ve yet to see Jesse and Jimmy’s happy reunion.
Jess is back in California with her fellow mentees for her final week, but what about Jimmy? Almost bouncing off the walls with excitement, he cleared her desk and put everything in order, awaiting her return.
He even called his daughter Victoria to share the news—this guy is all about it!
Sure, Jesse didn’t walk in the door with Torres, but that doesn’t mean sparks won’t fly when she does.
These two are counting the days until they’re apart, which tells you all you need to know – they belong together.
Hopefully, the NCIS writers won’t leave us in suspense or ruin our reunion. TV couples can be happy without unnecessary drama and still be funny. Just saying.
A good day at NCIS
But in the end, the most important thing is that the team is back together and everyone can get back to work.
Casey pointed out that Parker wasn’t even interested in the last pastry in the box, which was totally out of character for him!
It’s a subtle but telling sign that things are no longer the same, with Jesse gone, Torres on a business trip, and McGee busy in his temporary new role.
But what now? They were all back where they were supposed to be, working on cases like well-oiled machines.
Even Torres thought the same thing — Parker orchestrated the reunion. Empty nest syndrome, be damned!
Could he have been pulling the strings? Who knows, but one thing is for sure – he trusts his team as much as he trusts anyone else, even if their choices don’t necessarily make sense at first.
Casey may not understand why Parker asked Torres to go undercover the way he wanted, but when Parker asked Torres to go undercover, he knew what he was doing.
Finally, it’s a great day for NCIS!
Over to you, TV fanatics! Are you as excited as I am to have the team back? Do you have any questions about Jesse’s return?
