Destiny 2’s new Stasis grenade launcher, the Liturgy, is a pretty great breechloader for a few reasons. First, the Revenant weapon is one of the few prototype dual-fire launchers, meaning it fires two grenades at once instead of one, doubling the power of the blast. Secondly, it goes into your primary weapon slot and is filled with Stasis, an element that is very popular due to the buffs from the Undead Artifact. Finally, the excellent perks in its scroll synergize perfectly with the Stasis and Prism builds and other Stasis guns, providing some great benefits.
How to Conduct a Liturgy
As with other Revenant weapons, the main way to get the new version of the Liturgy is to play Onslaught: Redemption, a new event launched as part of this episode. Liturgy drops as a random reward as you complete waves of Onslaught: Redemption, so you have a chance to get it every time you open a chest. You can increase this chance by crafting the Liturgy Enrichment Tonic, which will “tweak” your rewards so that you receive the Liturgy more often. The potion lasts for 20 minutes, but you must unlock the recipe to use it – check out our tonic guide for more information on how to do this.
You’re also guaranteed to receive a Liturgy as a reward for completing The Revenant’s Act 1 story missions, so be sure to complete them.

Liturgical PvE Divine Scroll
- bucket: Hard boot/Quick boot
- Hard Launch: Speed +11, Stability -10, Explosion Radius -5
- Quick Start: Speed +10, Controllability +15
- Magazine: Spiked Grenade
- First benefit: Slide/Rimestealer
- Slide: Slide to partially reload this weapon’s magazine and temporarily improve handling and stability.
- Rimestealer: Use this weapon to gain Frost Armor by destroying stasis crystals or defeating frozen enemies.
- Second benefit: cold editing
- A direct hit to the top half of the magazine will cause an explosion, slowing down nearby targets.
- masterpiece:Speed or reload speed
Just like Exuviae, Liturgy has some great synergy with Stasis builds and other Stasis weapons. The main benefit here is the “icy clip”, which creates an explosion when you hit it directly, slowing enemies down, while the one-round magazine on the liturgy means you can ignore the “top half of the magazine” perk concerns. The Spiked Grenade Magazine adds an extra boost to your direct hit damage and benefits from the reduced blast radius of Hard Fire, making it a truly powerful weapon. The slide is also really nice here, as sliding can constantly reload your launcher to make it fire faster. Frost Rogue works well if you pair Ritual with other weapons and abilities that generate Stasis Crystals, as the launcher hits so hard that the target is often dead before freezing.
Liturgical PvP Scroll
- bucket: Quick start
- Quick Start: Speed +10, Controllability +15
- Magazine: Spiked Grenade
- First benefit: Slide
- Sliding partially reloads this weapon’s magazine and temporarily improves handling and stability.
- Second benefit: Harmony/Desperate Measures
- Harmony: Kills with other weapons increase that weapon’s damage and performance for a short time.
- Desperate Measures: The weapon’s final hit deals extra damage. Melee and grenade final hits provide larger bonuses and can stack.
- masterpiece: speed
There are better PvP grenade launcher options – namely Hilltop – and the Liturgy is better for PvE use. If you do bring it into the Crucible, rely on the speed stat to get the grenade to the target as quickly as possible. Slides come into play here again to help you keep your liturgy loaded. Harmony and Desperate Measures both increase Liturgy’s damage, although both require you to kill first, which tends to make it more of a backup weapon for a second target after a duel.
