Why is Evan always such a mess in the morning? He and the team will travel to Dallas for a teaching conference. When he called Malcolm and invited him to meet there, I almost immediately lost interest. There’s also no clue as to why he’s trying to appease Malcolm, which reminded me of previous episodes. He only calls when he’s feeling down – but that doesn’t make it an excuse.
This meeting was about as boring as you could imagine a teaching meeting to be; the lecturer kept delivering bad news and I don’t know why but it made me laugh, not because it was funny but because of its accuracy; the school system often fails kids The accuracy of bringing them down and leaving teachers to figure things out on their own with little support is shocking, and Evan’s response is so effective (Still don’t understand why you call your ex-boyfriend).

As Alvin and Gwen line up for food, Rick comes over to introduce them to a possible new co-worker. All was well until they realized the man was being interviewed for Markey’s position. They went to question Principal Moretti, who was very vague and ignored them. He was more concerned about returning to “robe time,” the time he spent alone in a hotel room wearing a robe.
It’s hard to say who the target audience for this show is. When Gwen asked Ivan what he thought “robe time” meant, and he mentioned Mario Lopez, I was so confused trying to figure out what the joke meant that I almost missed the next scene.

As the meeting continued, Evan continued to have difficulty with the topic of discussion. Teachers have such a stressful job and they should be appreciated more – I can say this episode did a great job of showing that.
Without knowing that his job might be in danger, Markey made fun of Principal Moretti’s speech with the most ridiculous comments. Gwen and Evan, knowing what they know, try to stop him, but he doesn’t realize this and moves on. I’m not sure if this scene was meant to be funny, but I thought it was great and wished it was longer.

malcolm (Insert intense eyeballsl) has arrived and Evan didn’t even remember to invite him. Even though I can’t stand him, Malcolm isn’t the pair’s problem. Evan is trying to make him something he doesn’t want to be, which is his boyfriend. When Evan tries to express to Malcolm how he feels about his entire career path, he doesn’t want to hear it. He doesn’t even respect Evan’s job responsibilities; he gets angry when Evan can’t skip the day to hang out with him and asks Evan “why am I here,” which is a completely valid question. When was Evan going to stop calling him for his last minute needs?
Remember when I mentioned Markey might be replaced? Turns out that’s what he and Principal Moretti were doing, with Markey pretending he was resigning and Principal Moretti pretending to replace him – I don’t understand the dynamic, but if it works for them, then yes They work.
