After airing on The CW since 2018, the Critics’ Choice Awards have found a new home on E!
Although the network has changed, one thing remains the same: Chelsea Handler returns as host for the third year in a row.
The Critics’ Choice Association (CCA) announced the news and revealed that the 30th annual Critics’ Choice Awards will air on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
The event will feature a one-hour preview – typical E! – giving fans a chance to catch the red carpet before the ceremony begins.
This year, viewers don’t have to change channels to enjoy the entire experience, making it an all-in-one event for fans of glitz and glamor.

The show will take place as usual at the iconic Buck Hangar in Santa Monica, maintaining its tradition of honoring excellence in film, television and streaming.
The awards are voted for by industry critics and recognize the best performances and achievements on the big and small screen.
CCA CEO Joey Berlin expressed excitement about the new partnership: “We are delighted to partner with E! to present our landmark 30th annual Critics’ Choice Awards.
He continued, “With the incredible Chelsea Handler returning as our host, we know this special 30th anniversary show will be our biggest and best yet.”
“We’re beyond excited to have this show live on E! It will be live on Peacock the next day,” he said.
It’s especially fitting that Chelsea Handler returns as host given her history with E! Her popular late-night show “Chelsea Lately” aired on the network for seven years from 2007 to 2014.
“Hosting the Critics’ Choice Awards again for a third year makes it even sweeter for us knowing it will now air on E!,” Handler said. “I feel like I’m back where I was born.”
Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment, echoed the enthusiasm: “E!’s long tradition of being part of Hollywood’s biggest night makes it the perfect venue for the Critics’ Choice Awards.”
She continued, “With Chelsea returning to E! as host of the telecast, the awards show will be one of the most anticipated events of the season.
“We look forward to working with CCA to honor the biggest stars in Hollywood film and television,” she added.
With a new network, familiar hosts and the star-studded atmosphere fans have come to expect, the 30th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards will be a can’t-miss event this awards season.
