Some new employees are clocking in.
Indie action figure brand 9 to 5 Warriors made a splash last year with the launch of its first line of products, inspired by the wacky action brand of the early ’90s. Originally the subject of a 2021 Kickstarter campaign, the collection found success among collectors and found its way into independent specialty retailers across the United States
Now, founder Brandon Braswell is putting the brand back on Kickstarter to raise funds for a second batch of characters aimed at “the kids who never grew up in Toys R Us.”
I have always been inspired by cartoons and toys from the 90s and I wanted to create something to recapture creativity and unleash the imagination – “Saturday morning magic”. 9 to 5 Warriors transforms everyday office supplies and leftovers into characters with rich personalities, delivering a fun, imaginative experience that resonates with fans of all ages. Our first wave introduces leaders Major Rubber and Colonel Custard, as well as their trusted soldiers, Tech Sergeant Scourge and Brigadier Crispus. Now we’re ready to expand the battle with exciting new characters and features."
New factions include Lounge Bandits and Water Cooler Commandos.
As of press time, the current campaign has received nearly $22,000 in support funding, with a goal of $45,000 with 16 days left.
