- Quick Answer: Tanjiro likely won’t have a major battle in the second film as the story shifts focus to other Hashira fighting the remaining Upper Moons.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 may disappoint some fans for one reason: it likely won’t feature a major battle involving lead character Tanjiro.
The Infinity Castle arc, the longest and most intense storyline in Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, follows the Demon Slayers as they battle the Upper Moons after becoming trapped inside the massive, ever-shifting fortress controlled by Nakime, the Biwa-playing demon.
While Tanjiro remains an important part of the story, his biggest fight may have already taken place in the first film with his showdown against Akaza. As a result, Tanjiro may not have another major one-on-one fight in Infinity Castle Part 2. Here’s why.
Why Tanjiro Won’t Have a Major Fight in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2?
Tanjiro’s fight against Akaza had been a long time coming after the Upper Moon killed Rengoku during the Mugen Train arc.
When the two crossed paths again inside the Infinity Castle, Akaza mocked Rengoku’s death, pushing Tanjiro to his breaking point and igniting another fierce battle. This time, however, Tanjiro had Giyu Tomioka fighting alongside him.
After working together during the Mount Natagumoarc, Tanjiro had grown strong enough to fight alongside a Hashira. However, the pair remained outmatched by Akaza’s overwhelming strength and regeneration.
Ultimately, Akaza was defeated after regaining his memories as a human and choosing to destroy himself.
With Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 ending as both Tanjiro and Giyu collapsed from exhaustion, the film clearly set the stage for the remaining battles to take center stage in Part 2.
The sequel is expected toshift its focus to the other Hashira, as several Upper Moons are still waiting to be defeated.Â
While Part 1 featured three major battles, Shinobu vs. Doma, Zenitsu vs. Kaigaku, and Tanjiro and Giyu vs. Akaza, Infinity Castle Part 2 will likely spotlight the remaining fights.
What to Expect From Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2?
Picking up where the first film left off, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is expected to adapt Chapters 159 to 183 of the manga.
Without diving into major spoilers for anime-only fans, the second movie is set to be even more intense and action-packed than its predecessor, with several Hashira and Upper Moon battles taking center stage.
Kanao’s fight against Doma will continue, while Inosuke joins the battle against the Upper Moon. Meanwhile, Tanjiro is expected to spend much of the film searching for Muzan Kibutsuji to avenge his family, setting the stage for their long-awaited final showdown rather than taking part in anothermajor one-on-one battle.
“Without spoiling anything, I will say there are some really exciting things coming up,” Tanjiro’s English voice actor, Zach Aguilar, told <a href="https://www.<a href="https://comicvibe.com/top-11-nft-games-to-play-in-july-2026/” title=”Top 11 NFT games to play in July 2026″>gamesradar.com/entertainment/anime-movies/demon-slayers-tanjiro-actor-and-manga-diehard-says-infinity-castle-sequel-fights-could-surpass-the-akaza-showdown-its-gonna-blow-some-minds-for-sure/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>GamesRadar. “It’s gonna blow some minds, for sure. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is expected to be released in 2027.
