    Marvel Legends Dracula Review |

If we’re talking about Dracula in the Marvel Universe, I’m really more of a Jean Colan Dracula fan, but I have to admit, this modern take on his pale skin and bright red The armor is too much of a toy. Let’s take a look at the Marvel legend Dracula!

The artwork on the box is very nice and does a great job of showing the overbearing nature of Dracula.

Dracula comes with a sword, two fists, two heads, a right gripping hand, a left clawed hand, as well as Blackheart’s arm and another pointing hand.

The sword has some sharp edges and is cast from a slightly metallic plastic. Unfortunately for me and the way I usually light people for photography, it’s a bit translucent when the light is behind it. It can work using metallic paint.

The hands swap easily and stay in great shape, continuing the intricate spiked armor design. All hands are hinged/extended except for the holding hand, which is hinged up/down so he can point his sword. I think I might prefer two clawed hands instead of one fist. Drake looks more like a scratching guy than a boxer.

The Blackheart arm looks cool and I’m looking forward to finishing him. What I noticed interestingly was that the other hand fit Dracula easily.

My favorite accessory so far is the spare head. The no-nonsense version is very serious, perfect for Dracula’s aura of aristocratic scorn, while the fanged version means business. I’m glad they gave Dracula two options, so he does have fangs but doesn’t have to scream all the time. The ponytails on both are different and twirled. The face tattoo is beautiful as it subtly darkens the color around his eyes and gives the pupils a glowing effect. There are also subtle shading on the facial skin, which adds some realism.

I really like the sculpt on this guy, all the armor has such a nice crusty texture and spiky quality to it. The tattered cloth cloak also evokes the shape of a bat. He matches up really well with a bunch of the artwork I’ve seen in this modern version, and looks like mostly new parts to me. I really like that the ponytail on the snarl face is fuller and bigger, so it looks more dynamic. I also like that he’s just a little bigger than the average legend, rather than a towering monster, just a little more imposing.

The clarity is good. I like the double knees, swivel/hinge elbows that bend past 90 degrees (which is good considering the armored forearms and puffy sleeves), but not too much mid-torso swing. The barbell ball and socket neck go up and down well, but have a steep slope. At first glance, we might have missed the cutout for this character’s boots, but the ankle swivels at the calf and foot, and the armor hides it well.

The paint is mostly appropriately colored plastic, the design on Dracula’s sides is clean and crisp, and the plastic quality is mostly matte. He could really use a darker wash to bring out the armor details and some metallic paint on the chains.

Overall, I’m very happy with this figure. It’s just a striking armored look, contrasting with the pale face and hair. It’s certainly not my Dracula, but the red armor is somewhat reminiscent of Gary Oldman’s red armor in the prologue to Dracula, while the pale skin and hair are reminiscent of Oldman’s old Dracula later in the film. Gula look. It’s really smart that Dracula has armor for his chest, and the tights give him a bit of a superhero feel that’s more fitting for the Marvel Universe. This Dracula feels like it would go well with the more sniper inspired Blade. I still love the classic Gene Colan style of Dracula and Blade with his crazy green hue.
