The Ranch logo from the original Silent Hill 2 was iconic for its use of Comic Sans font for its tonality, but the remake changed it — except for the same.
Early on in Silent Hill 2, you’ll encounter Silent Hill Ranch, which used the much-loved font Comic Sans from the original PS2 version. Of course, Comic Sans wasn’t a meme font back in the early 2000s, and people only joked about it in the years since, but it has become a sticking point for Silent Hill 2 fans. Unsurprisingly, one of the first things fans might do (including trading wizard Wario64) is check out what the fans look like, only to find… the logo looks pretty regular. No Comic Sans, no other interesting fonts, just a plain-looking ranch logo that could believably exist in the real world. but! All is not lost.

As GmanLives shared on Twitter, there’s a secret inside the ranch waiting to be discovered. While it’s technically impossible to enter the ranch, we found that if you manage to clip in, you’ll find… the original Silent Hill Ranch logo, Comic Sans font, and more. It’s a fun little nod to the original game, which apparently shows that they ripped off that logo and replaced it with a new, less weird-looking one. Now we just have to wait for the modder to modify it back to its original position so we can get the logo we deserve.

Reviews for the remaster dropped last week, and the fact that they were so positive seems to have caused some outrage, as the game’s Wikipedia page for mods had their review scores edited to make them look more positive than they actually were. Oops. Our own Kelsey gave the game top marks in their review, which you can check out here.
