Nosferatu received its first full trailer yesterday, and it looks like it might have some success in making vampires a little scary again.
Back in June, the first trailer for The Lighthouse director Robert Eggers’ latest horror film was released, featuring the return of classic movie monster Nosferatu. The trailer didn’t show us much, but it was an exciting look at what’s to come, and now Focus Features has released a full trailer for the film, giving us a clearer look What we are looking forward to in the new film is an old vampire. Vampires have long had a slightly romantic quality to them, especially since the Twilight Saga took hold of everyone, but apparently they’re also supposed to be pretty scary.
Eggers’ take looks like it’s intended to inject more fear into the vampire movie, although Lily-Rose Depp’s Aaron Hart still seems to have a bit of, um, obsession with Nosferatu (this trailer) not exactly PG). As long as the end result is as good as this trailer, Eggers told Empire last year that it’s actually “a horror movie. It’s a horror movie. It’s a gothic horror movie. And I I do Think it’s been a while since there’s been a truly scary old-school gothic movie, and I think most viewers will find this one to be exactly that.

The rest of the cast looks strong too, with horror aficionado Bill Skarsgård playing the titular role of Nosferatu – I believe his performance in Pennywise was at least dealing with a classic horror villain helpful to him. In addition, there are Nicholas Hoult (“Mad Max: Fury Road”), Willem Dafoe (“Spider-Man”), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kraven the Hunter”) and Lar Husband Ineson (“Final Fantasy XVI”) and other big names.
“Nosferatu” is currently scheduled to be released on Christmas Day, December 25th.
