International pop icon and actor Joe Jonas is going green with PlanetPlay starting in October. As the nonprofit platform’s latest Star of the Month, the popular singer-songwriter is spearheading the Action Green Tuesday (MGTM) campaign. This mass media initiative will inspire virtual excitement among gamers and strengthen the fight against climate change.
“Helping our planet is something I really care about,” Jonas said. “The best part is we can all do this while playing games… PlanetPlay makes sustainability fun and rewarding, so what are you waiting for? Let’s make a change together.
Games, including Boombit royal hunt and Trailmix’s love and piewill partner with Planet Play’s MGTM program to release exclusive characters, skins, badges, puzzles and more throughout October.
Google Play’s page dedicated to the program showcases some of the games available in the store. Players who want to participate in #PassiveActivism simply have to enjoy the gaming experience, download green exclusive content, and contribute to the sustainability projects curated by Planet Play. Fully accredited projects include Hongera, which helps families in Kenya improve their living conditions by manufacturing and distributing clean stoves, and New Zealand’s WAI Wanaka water conservation project.
