Marvel Comics has announced that they will be producing a dedicated Marvel 2-in-1 variant cover in November to pay tribute to The Thing and the series that began in 2017.
Originally developed as a way for Marvel Comics to team up potential new heroes with “weirdos” in order to try out new characters before committing to a full investment, the Marvel 2-in-1 featured pioneering legendary figures from the comics Featuring a team of legendary artists such as George Perez, Sal Buscema, and gilcairn.
Of course, Marvel then brought it back in 2017 as part of the Marvel Legacy relaunch, and has used the label on and off since. See more than a dozen Marvel 2-in-1 covers below, and read more in the official press release.
Throughout the 1970s, Marvel 2-in-1 Team up the ever-lovable blue-eyed monster with a different Marvel hero in each action-packed issue! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beloved series, new Marvel 2-in-1 covers will be available in November, paying homage to classic Marvel 2-in-1 covers including George Perez, Sal Buscema, Works by industry legends like Gil Kane. Across 12 covers, witness today’s superstar artists reimagine these iconic works and watch the Thing carve his way into Marvel’s most popular current comic series.
The Marvel 2-in-1 variant cover also launches ahead of the arrival of Ryan North and Iban Coello’s critically acclaimed new saga. Fantastic Four is released early next year, as well as Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Fantastic Four: The First Step The movie will be released next summer.
