If you’re new to what the DLC is about, Bethesda also recently released an in-depth video of its main story setting, so it’s well worth a look before you dive into those launch details. As stated in the studio’s blog post, Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC will unlock on September 30 at 4pm BST (i.e. 11am ET, 8am PT and 5pm CEST).
There’s a handy map below that also lists release times for many other areas of the world, so be sure to check that out if I didn’t list your release times at that last point.
Now, How to start Star Territory Shattered Space?
Well, if you’ve purchased the Premium or Constellation Edition of Starfield, you should automatically get this DLC. “Standard Edition owners can still purchase the Digital Premium Upgrade to access Shattered Space,” Bethesda explained, adding: “[Xbox] Game Pass subscribers can upgrade to Starfield Premium to access Shattered Space.
In the game, you must complete “One Small Step”, the first of Starfield’s main quests, which takes you away from your humble beginnings as a miner for the Argos Extractors. If this box is checked, the first time you gravity jump to a mission or encounter an unused orbit after installing the DLC, you will “receive a distress call and discover a large star station, the Oracle.”
To make sure you’re prepared, Bethesda writes: “Any player can take on the challenges in Shattered Space, but level 35 is recommended for the best experience.”
