Skateboarding mogul Tony Hawk seems to be teasing that another Tony Hawk game or remake is coming.
Hawkman took to Instagram to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Tony Hawk series (may I suggest you check out my ranking of every Tony Hawk game?) and hint at what else is to come.
“The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was released 25 years ago today. My original intentions and expectations for the game were primarily for the fun of skateboarders,” said Tony Hawk. “I had no idea it would transcend the niche. ”
His tease came at the end, with Hawke concluding: “I shouldn’t tease anything about the future of the series; but there will be a future.
This isn’t the first time he’s teased a new entry in the series, either. Just last week, Tony Hawk appeared on a Youtube series where guests get to choose what to eat as their final meal, and in the interview he confirmed that he’s talking to Activision Blizzard again.
He also confirmed that following the amazing “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2”, remakes of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3” and “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4” are also in the works, but All this was prevented by Vicarious Visions being merged into the larger Activision company. According to Hawke, other studios considered tackling the issue, but Activision didn’t like either option.
Personally, I’m excited about the idea of this series returning. Considering how great the first series was, I’d love to see plans for a remake of the third and fourth games, but I’d also be interested in a brand new Tony Hawk game.
