The stunning Asian fantasy Metroidvania is finally coming to consoles

Red Candle Games has confirmed that its Sekiro-inspired metroidvania Nine Sol will launch on PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox on November 26. It will be available on Game Pass on November 26th.

“Nine Yangs” tells the story of Yi, a hero who aims to overthrow Jiu Yang, the brutal ruler of the New Kunlun realm. The developers call Nine Suns’ aesthetic “Cotapunk,” which combines futuristic cyberpunk elements with Eastern fantasy and mythology. While the game features challenging blocking mechanics, there are also options to modify damage dealt and damage received, making it more accessible and less frustrating than the games it inspired.

Red Candle Games is previously known for making horror games like Detention and Devotion. However, Nine Sols is a bright and colorful platformer that’s very different from the studio’s past games.

Nine Suns will be released on PC in May after successfully crowdfunding in 2022.
