remember the day before? If anything, the blandness of its name may have contributed to The scandal surrounding its clown car series The last holiday faded from memory. But the sudden collapse and shutdown of the zombie survival MMO has brought it back to our attention, thanks to its developer Fntastic, who rather boldly tried to raise funds for the new game on Kickstarter.
2022, projects under development the day before Realizing what little developers dream of: Steam hype. By the end of that year, millions of PC gamers were looking forward to playing an online survival simulation game with heavy content. the last of us vibes, the game was one of the most popular games on the Valve store at the time. But by January 2023, Somehow it was temporarily removed from Steam. They claimed it had to do with trademark issues. The problem was so severe that the scheduled game was postponed for nine months. It all smells weird.
A now-deleted tweet from Fntastic read: “Just prior to launch, Steam blocked our game page at a personal request due to the title of the game. the day before”. This didn’t sit well with the news that followed that they wouldn’t be releasing the much-hyped gameplay video either, and announced a new, very specific release date: November 10, 2023.
although The trademark is authenticit seemed unlikely that it would take nine months to change the game’s title, and many began speculating that the game might be less…complete… than previously hinted.
So it’s perhaps no surprise that the game’s launch, about a year later, would be an unmitigated disaster. Released on December 7, 2023, it’s terrible, derivative, and technically incompetent, and it’s not an MMO either. In fact, it’s nothing like the promised game. Rumor has it that of the 200,000 copies sold, almost half were immediately refunded.
Just four days later on December 11th, instead of announcing plans to release patches and updates and bring the game back to normal, Fntastic simply…Clear. The game was once again completely removed from Steam, and Fntastic began removing all of its online content. YouTube and Twitter accounts have been deleted, it was announced Scandal ridden The developer has closed down.
By January 22, 2024, The game’s servers have been completely shut downand then two days later the not-so-dead company posted a statement to their X account Explain that the whole thing is actually the “blogger’s” fault. You know, when people write about all the dodgy things someone does, and then that leads to dodgy things that existed in the past, just so the blogger can write about it.
Fntastic has now launched a Kickstarter for their new game! Who’s backing it up?
escape factory Looks like a combination autumn guy As well as the current trend of factory simulation games, you control a group of cartoon characters in a co-op mode trying to escape a trap-filled factory. You know, this sounds like something that’s going to be popular fort night Game mode. Stating that they need our financial support and will launch this Halloween probably won’t help. Yeah yeah ah ah ah.
Incredibly, the Russian developer has issued a call titled “Help Magic Returns,” which seems a bit optimistic. To achieve this lofty goal, we must support their Kickstarter campaign, join their Discord, and follow their activities new social media accounts and purchase their merchandise. I swear to God, they have merchandise.
Meanwhile, on their newly re-registered website, there is a post titled “Everyone deserves a second chance.” (Actually, that’s not actually true. For example, the nanny who eats your kids doesn’t deserve a second chance. “Well, honey, yes, he did eat samantha but he promise He wouldn’t even bite Kevin.
“We deeply apologize to everyone the day before,” the website said, “and takes full responsibility for what happened. This is good because bloggers can finally take the guilt off their shoulders.
They have a plan, and you know it’s a good plan because it’s in PDF format. In it, the company explains its intention to “raise development standards” and “expand expertise.” No, stop laughing, you’re too rude. Things go on,
The new Fntastic brand, represented by its vibrant blue logo and bold geometric design, not only represents a visual refresh but also signals the company’s new commitment to transparency and honesty.
Honestly, it’s all great. It comes with a new mission and vision, in order:
Our mission is to create games that have been loved for decades.
and
Our vision is to become one of the most popular gaming companies by creating exciting, innovative and engaging experiences.
So, that’s all good, isn’t it! When I started writing this article, Fntastic’s goal was $20,000, and $635 has been pledged so far. Let me refresh the page…it’s now $635.
indeed Game demo on Steamand Fntastic are working hard to remove all negative discussion threads posted to the game store page. Apparently it also sucks when people link to resource packs that the game is using.
But listen, let’s not be unfair. While the goal to make a game in a month is $20,000 (not yet confirmed on Steam, it really At the beginning of the Kickstarter video it says “This Halloween”! For example, if they reach $50,000, they plan to make a Steam Deck version of the game!
A $100,000 game will come to PS5, and a $200,000 game will eventually be enough to make the notoriously expensive Nintendo Switch version. For an additional $50,000, you’ll get a “unique soundtrack” for each location! But double that to $500,000 and you get this: they’ll include “new models.” for real.
It was absolutely horrific in every sense of the word and I would watch every second of it.
But before I leave, let me refresh the Kickstarter one more time. $638! It’s taking off!
