Perhaps the most interesting bit here is Ocko’s involvement. His resume is impressive, and his work on Dinosaurs, a deeply satirical show with one of the wildest endings in TV history, in a new riff on Paul Verhoeven’s original film, It feels perfect. While José Padilha’s 2014 reboot wasn’t entirely terrible, it lacked a lot of the excitement surrounding the original characters and Detroit nature.
If the RoboCop vehicle doesn’t hit too many roadblocks, we might be looking at casting news coming out sometime in 2025. Funny; Peter Weller’s performance is still iconic, but I personally don’t think Joel Kinnaman’s performance in the reboot was too bad.
