Covabonga, guys! Creators of 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) Record turtle power is back and crowdfunding a sequel.
“Ninja Turtles: Evolution, Mutation and Reboot” is a Four hours of in-depth exploration of 40 years of history, evolution and mutations of the iconic sea turtle. The film includes unseen interviews from the original documentary, behind-the-scenes footage, and recent new content TMNT Project. Rather than waiting for major studios to fund and distribute the film, independent film studio Definitive Film is bringing it directly to fans through an epic Kickstarter campaign, with a projected release date of 2026.
Definitive Film dug into the archives of its 15-year partnership with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to find the little moments that illustrate just how unique and meaningful the franchise was to so many people. The documentary includes TMNT Creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird tell the origin story in the same location where the Turtles were first dreamed up 40 years ago. Event backers will also have access to an aggressive range of “Into the Sewers” bonus features, including home videos from the Playmates Toy Sessions and live antics during the live-action show adapt Mutation of the Green Machine.
In addition to the movie, fans can also see new retro-styled Turtles action figures based on earlier, never-released concepts from Playmates Toys. Paying homage to 40 years of mayhem, original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy sculptor Steve Varner transforms creators Eastman and Laird into toy figures for the first time A companion-style action figure. If these exclusive collectibles weren’t enough, Definitive Film has also created a new book to accompany the documentary. In addition to showcasing original art from the beginning of the TV series, the book also includes personal stories from the filmmakers and opinion pieces from the broader Turtle community.
