Searchlight Pictures has released a new trailer for this well-made comedy film real pain,Depend on Jesse Eisenberghe also starred in the film Kieran Culkin.
The film is based on Eisenberg’s own family history and follows mismatched cousins David (Eisenberg) and Benji (Culkin) as they “reunite and travel across Poland to honor their memory.” The story of my beloved grandmother.
“The adventure takes a turn when the two’s past tensions resurface in the context of their family histories. An insightful and hilarious exploration of an unexpected permutation of intergenerational trauma.
I really enjoyed this movie and I especially liked Culkin because his performance was great and aspects of his character reminded me of a good friend of mine.
The film achieves the perfect balance of drama and comedy, with laugh-out-loud moments mixed with melancholic and thoughtful moments, giving the audience time to think about and accept the story and message the film is trying to convey.
It’s explained that “Eisenberg’s intimate, resonant script complements the tension and humor of two very different cousins’ tumultuous road trip and deftly reckons with the legacy of World War II in Survivor .”
The movie will be released in select theaters starting November 1, 2024.
