The 37th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the live-action film ” Yoshiharu Tsuzuki‘s short comic “Ame no Naka no Yokujō” will be screened in competition at the festival on October 30, November 3 and November 4.
The film will be released in Japan on November 29.

Other cast members include Tomomitsu Adachi, Yuki Nakanishi, Yuya Matsuura, Makoto Tsuchi, Kaori Momo, Sora Inoshima and Xing Li. Shinzo Katayama directed the film and co-wrote the script with Oe Takama.
The film’s story centers on Yoshio, a poor and struggling mangaka living in Kitamachi. He was sent by the apartment landlord Oyaji (who was also engaged in other shady businesses) to help novelist Ethan move in, and met Fukuko, a newly divorced woman. Jixiong is immediately fascinated by her beauty, even though she is already looking at someone else. Meanwhile, Ethan sets up an advertising agency to sell his novel, borrowing the name of a larger advertising agency in the wealthier Minamachi. Yoshio ends up helping Ethan in his efforts, and somehow, Ethan and Bokko start living with Yoshio.
