Dragon Age: Veiled Keep is still over a month away from release, but BioWare and EA are far from revealing what the game will bring to players. In Sony’s latest state of play, Veiled Keeper’s new gameplay trailer depicts the player character Rook (in this particular adventure) leading her companions into an intense battle with a dragon.
It’s unclear how deep into the game this sequence takes place, but Rook and her companions are openly trying to find their nemesis Jilan Nairn. When they couldn’t find her, they found one of her withered dragons. But this isn’t a typical dragon. Instead, it is an ice dragon and therefore vulnerable to fire attacks that a normal dragon might ignore.
Rook’s character build here is that of a mage, one of three classes players can choose from when building the game’s protagonist hero. In this fight, Rook relies heavily on using ranged attacks through her staff, as well as some magical dodge moves to keep her as far away from the dragon as possible. The film also demonstrates how players can coordinate the attacks of their companions to maximize damage to a chosen target.
Unfortunately for Rook and her friends, this may be an elaborate trap. Just as the dragon was on the verge of defeat, Jilannain emerged with her Blighted Forces, along with a second dragon under her command. Suddenly, a winnable battle seems to have swung irrevocably to the evil goddess’s side. But players will have to wait until next month to see what happens next.
Dragon Age: Veiled Guard will be released on October 31st for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
