BioWare Wants You to Break Down Dragon Age: Veiled Guard

When Dragon Age: Veiled Guard releases next month, players will be able to advance their characters to level 50, which is nearly double the cap of previous games in the series. BioWare, the developer of the Dragon Age series, has figured out most of the possible ways for players to upgrade their characters. According to game director Corinne Busche, BioWare is interested in seeing if players can come up with builds that can surprise them by breaking out of its upgrade system.

“We hope players will find emergency builds,” Busche told Windows Central. “We want them to feel like they can outsmart us. Maybe not to ruin the game, so when we find those we’ll try to bring them in. But, man, there’s nothing like having someone outsmart our best tuner What makes me even more happy.

In the interview, Busch explained that Veil Keeper’s difficulty is designed to match the player’s level. For example, players who have reached level 50 will still have a challenging experience when playing the game. But cunning players may figure out how to upgrade their characters to make them more powerful than their enemies.

Any character build that tips the balance of power too far in the player’s direction is likely to be nerfed in subsequent updates to Veiled Guard. However, that doesn’t mean players can’t have fun with these high-powered characters in the meantime.

Dragon Age: Veiled Guard will be released on October 31st for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
