The winners of the 2024 Ringo Awards were announced last night at Baltimore Comic-Con, and many of the winners are Ringo favorites and past winners.
The biggest winner of multiple awards prior to the night was Stan Sakai Won the Ringo Award for Best Writer for the second consecutive year. overall Atu Yongxinfang Since 2017, the cartoonist has now won 7 Ringo Awards in multiple categories, including Best Cartoonist, Best Single Issue, Best Series and Best Design Presentation, and of course, Lettering.
Another award-winning winner is Sean Phillips Won the Best Design Display Award for two consecutive years Dalwin Cooks pike Adapted book (last year’s companion book Richard Stark’s Puck: Martini Edition – The Last Call). The artist is best known for his work with Ed Brubaker The author of several crime comic series and graphic novels, which earned him awards for Best Original Graphic Novel (2021, 2019) and Best Pencil Award (2019). By our count, this is Phillips’ sixth Ringo to hit the shelves this year.

The awards, officially known as the Mike Willingo Comic Book Industry Awards, are now in their eighth year. The Ringo Awards are voted for by industry professionals, and the 2024 edition is chaired by a panel of judges including Alan Gill (Ultimate Comic Shop; NCComicon); Writer, Editor, Educator Robert Greenberg;Writer, artist, creator, adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts Jamal Eagle (molly danger, wrong earth, black); writer, comic and game writer Sam Maggs (Key Role: “Origins of the Mighty Nein”, “No Storytelling: Pirates of the South Sea”); and writers and artists Annie Wu (Two Graves, Dead Man Fan Club).
