Following the huge success of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Netflix and CD Projekt announced during Nextflix’s Geeked Week that another Cyberpunk 2077 animated project is coming soon.
Nothing about it is still up in the air at the moment, but we do know that it’s being billed as a “return to Night City,” so at least you know everything it stores will take place in familiar locations, and there will likely be at least one funky neon sign logo.

The quick teaser announcing the thing was played as Geek Radio was hacked – you know, for Cyberpunk – with a brief series flashing slideshows featuring the Netflix, CD Projekt and Cyberpunk logos , interspersed with those lines about Night City that I just mentioned.
“From Netflix Animation, Cyberpunk and CD Projekt Red. Stay tuned,” an equally vague tweet read. So there’s nothing to suggest this is in any way related to or similar to the popular Cyberpunk Edge Runner, but the show’s story doesn’t necessarily seem to be designed for subsequent sequels. That said, CD Projekt hasn’t completely ruled out such a thing, and there would certainly be interest.

In fact, the studio has been very coy about the whole thing, with co-CEO Micha Strok saying: “We definitely plan to There’s more to be done on the animation side of cyberpunk, so I hope this is enough of an answer.”
Browsing through Reddit, many fans seem to think they might prefer something fresh, as the Edgerunners season we’ve had so far will be one that’s hard to try to exceed or meet the lofty expectations that have been set. “I’d love anything. A story about the early corporate wars would be great,” one fan wrote. “OMG I’d even watch it if it was about Dramain’s daily life.”
