Earlier this week, Sega revealed that longtime yakuza character Goro Majima will be the protagonist of the upcoming game Yakuza: Pirates of the Gangs, set to launch in Hawaii. During a livestream held earlier today, Sega RGG Studio debuted a new trailer for Prime Video’s live-action Yakuza: Like a Dragon series, which not only confirmed that Majima will appear in the show, but also revealed the character’s Who is the actor?
Sotaka Aoki will play Majima in the Yakuza: Like a Dragon series, which is fitting since he also voiced the character in Yakuza: Pirates of the Dragon in Hawaii. The new trailer is action-heavy and doesn’t offer many story details. But it does give a brief introduction to Majima and the other two protagonists, Kazuma Kiryu (Ryoma Takeuchi) and Akira Nishikiyama (Kento Kaku).
In the show’s version of the story, Kiryu is a former yakuza member who is pulled back into the orbit of his former clan and his childhood friend Nishikiyama. The modern narrative will feature several flashbacks to Kazuma’s past to show how his previous actions have shaped his current relationships and reputation.
Prime Video has yet to announce the full cast list for Yakuza: Like a Dragon , although the series is set to premiere on October 24, just over a month away. Released on the same day.
