Today, during the Netflix Geek Week 2024 live presentation, a section was dedicated to the growing Netflix gaming platform on mobile devices. Here, we learn that Monument Valley 3, the latest in the critically acclaimed action-puzzle series, is now available for pre-registration ahead of its release on December 10th.
New footage from Monument Valley 3 was secretly shown off during a press conference earlier this week. One clip shows off an expanded view of the new voyage traversal mechanic briefly shown in the trailer, where players will hold down their finger and move it around the screen to guide the ship in different directions. Another clip presents a unique puzzle – in the series’ signature isometric view – with some of the paths rendered invisible by an intense white light in the background.
The release date comes one month after “Monument Valley 3” was announced at the opening night of Gamescom last month. The first two games of “Monument Valley” will be released on Netflix before the new game. The original game was released today, and “Monument Valley 2” will be released on October 29.
The Netflix Geeked Week demo revealed that more games are coming to Netflix Games in the coming weeks, including a new SpongeBob SquarePants-themed puzzle game, SpongeBob SquarePants: Bubble Bubble Fun, as well as Bloodlines: Rebel Moon Game and Squidward Unleashed, both based on the SpongeBob SquarePants Netflix property. Other announced games include Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition and Civilization VI (both listed as “coming soon”), as well as a new version of the classic tabletop game Battleship, set to launch on September 24.
“Monument Valley 3” will be released on mobile devices exclusively through the Netflix app on December 10. All games available through Netflix are free to download with any active Netflix subscription.
