If I don’t buy a PS5 Pro, will I use the PS5 less often? History shows this is exactly what will happen

I love my Steam Deck. There was a time when I was using it every day as my primary gaming platform. It fit my life better than a console, gave me access to a wider (and often cheaper) library of PC games, and opened up the world of retro gaming. As long as my Steam Deck is charged and nearby, everything is great. But oh, how quickly things change.

As soon as Valve announced the OLED Steam Deck, my brain started doing some stupid things – although I wish others thought the same so I could at least take some level of comfort from the collective pain. I really want an OLED Deck, a slightly improved version of the device that would make my gaming life better, but I can’t justify the cost. This is unavoidable. It makes more sense to stick with the decks that have worked well for me and buy the appropriately improved ones steam deck 2 Later.

Looking back, maybe I was wrong. You see, as much as I love the Steam Deck and often sing its praises to anyone I can listen to, the moment the OLED model came out, something happened in my brain. This device almost immediately went from something I couldn’t live without to just another gaming handheld collecting dust. the fact is me Can Using advanced equipment has made me stop using old equipment at all. I did say it was stupid.

This has been going on for 10 months – although my personal experience has not worsened at all, my brain has made a completely strange choice. It’s like I’m punishing myself for not keeping up with the latest technology. Considering how much I liked the Deck up until that point, investing in OLED was probably the right thing to do. Now I’m torn between wanting to make that leap and knowing that the right successor is closer than ever. This brings me to the PS5 Pro.

I’ve brought you the pleasure of reading my various random thoughts on the PS5 Pro and why I wouldn’t want to buy it, while also being very eager to spend some quality time alone in the second half of the year. The list of pros and cons always seems heavy, however, I’m torn when I think about the Steam Deck. Will my PS5 suffer the same fate as my former lover?

I could see my future and it wasn’t pretty. When I sit down to play Until Dawn remastered on PS5, I’ll be reading about how it’s been enhanced for PS5 Pro. I’m purely speculating here, but, better ray tracing and vastly improved image quality, you say…hmm. That sounds good. Like some grumpy kid throwing a tantrum because his ice cream was smaller than his brother’s, throwing the ice cream on the floor in protest, only to miss it entirely, I turned off the PS5. I sat there, kind of sulking. The 42-year-old is sulky in life. I ruined my own enjoyment of things because of bitter jealousy. The rich become poor and I don’t like that.

Maybe I should buy a PS5 Pro. Stop posturing about price and how it fits into the PS5 life cycle and just buy it. It would put an end to the amount of thought I put into the device, which I probably only use a few times a month to view reflections in GT7 and jump around in Astro Bot.

It’s definitely not worth it. Yeah?
