If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, one of the most important voices of that era was the booming voice of legendary actors James Earl Jones.
He is the iconic voice of the infamous man Star Wars Father/Villain Darth Vader. He played Terence Mann in the classic dream land.
starring him come to america and Looking for Red October. He voices the brave king Mufasa lion king. He brought the children in sandy land The biggest pickle they had ever encountered.
One of the children is Hamilton “Ham” Porter, played by actor Patrick KleinerLast year, he recounted his experience with James Earl Jones, who sadly passed away last week.
Renner explained on “The Rich Eisen Show” that even though he starred in the film with his younger co-star, he didn’t get a lot of screen time with the veteran actor:
“He was there for a day, he had a huge trailer, he was larger than life, he was the famous James Earl Jones. We were speechless, he was so cool. But, we should also be with him Doing a scene together, the director changed it to just Scotty Smalls and Benny acting with him, so we weren’t even acting with him, I guess, and we just felt like, he was in a scene. Looked at us and smiled.
It makes sense to have Smalls and Benny enter the house and hear Mr. Myrtle’s stories of baseball history. They are the ones who love the game the most and are most likely to take back the baseball Smalls stole from his stepfather.
Even though the other children’s scenes were cut, Renner said they could still interact with him behind the scenes. He recalled this cool story:
“None of us had the guts to talk to him. Marty York walked up to him and said, ‘Sir, I heard you were James Earl Jones,’ something like that.” He said, “Are you Darth Vader from Star Wars?” He looked at him and said, “No, I’m your father!” (Laughs) That was the only time we ever talked to him. Yeah, that’s awesome.
What excitement he brought to those kids! James Earl Jones is a gem who has given so much to his fans, both in person and behind the scenes.
