It looks like heroic Jedi Knight and famed Ginger Kal Kestis will be telling his story in the next Star Wars Jedi game.
EA’s own EA Entertainment and Technology President Laura Miele revealed in a matter-of-fact way that the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivors will be the “final chapter” of the series.
Speaking at EA’s Investor Relations Day, Miele discussed the success of the Star Wars Jedi series.
“We’ve launched some of the highest quality, best-selling Star Wars games ever, with over $5 billion in net bookings,” she boasted.
“This impressive track record certainly includes the Star Wars Jedi games, where more than 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Kal Kestis and his journey to become a powerful Jedi Knight.
“Respawn is working hard to bring players the final chapter of this thrilling story.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve hinted that a third game will be the finale. “Star Wars: The Last of Us” director Stieg Asmussen spoke to IGN ahead of the release of “Survivor” and said he envisioned it as a trilogy. Asmussen left EA last September, but his goal of making a trilogy appears to have remained unchanged.
There’s certainly plenty of room for EA to continue running the series. If a fourth game is made, they can say that the third game is the end of that particular story, and the fourth game marks the beginning of a new trilogy! Or maybe they’ll actually stick to their guns and let Carl’s story end instead of continuing to try to milk it.
