LEGO Fortress Heroes has been on hiatus since the Star Wars-themed LEGO Pass ended in July, but the popular mode is getting a big expansion this week with the Lost Isles update, which launches on Tuesday with “Fortress Heroes” patch 31.20 released together. Lost Island will add a huge new area to your LEGO Fortnite world – your island will remain the same, but you’ll be able to travel to another island with five different biomes that are identical to your existing ones Nothing on the islands is the same, and they’re filled with new items and weapons to discover. We’ve also launched the new LEGO Pass, a series of Marvel-oriented LEGO kits that include skins and all players can now build an airship to move around.

While LEGO Fortnite doesn’t have seasons like Battle Royale and Festivals, this Lost Isles update has reached the level of a seasonal release in terms of added content. With the launch of the Lost Islands zone, the area of the world that all players can explore has doubled. However, this new area is separate from your existing map. In order to reach it, you just need to use the Battle Bus Station. Once you arrive, you’ll have five new environments to check out: beaches, jungles, plains, mountains, and islands floating in the sky.

This is the new LEGO Pass.
This is the new LEGO Pass.

The new LEGO Pass features island builds and a new Peely skin. Unlike previous LEGO passes which were primarily about Star Wars, this one doesn’t involve any collaborations. LEGO Pass has two tracks, one free and one paid, and you can advance simultaneously by completing tasks. If you spend 1400 V-Bucks to upgrade to the Advanced Track, you’ll get the new Island Adventure Peely immediately. But this pass is quite short – it ends on October 11th.

If you thought you could pull off this announcement without any Marvel elements, you should know better. The update also introduces three new LEGO building kits featuring iconic Marvel locations like the Daily Bugle, and they come bundled with Marvel skins. Three of these sets will soon be available in the Item Shop: Mary Jane Watson and the Daily Bugle for 2,800 V-Bucks; Spider-Man Zero and the Queens where Peter Parker lived in his apartment building for the year 2,600; weapons X skins and weapons X laboratory decorations cost 2,600. Requires 1300 V-Bucks to take Mary Jane as an example.

Beyond that, one of the most exciting additions in this update for long-time Fortnite players is Klombo, a large four-legged lizard that appears in Battle Royale Chapter 1 Chapter 3. Klombo is generally a friendly guy, happy to let players ride on his back or offer rewards if you feed him berries – but if you piss him off, his rage can become legendary. It’s been two and a half years since we last saw Klombo, so this is pretty exciting.
