According to official news: Amazon’s second Prime Day event this year will be held in early October. The two-day shopping event (which Amazon is calling Prime Big Deal Days for the second year in a row) will begin on Tuesday, October 8 at 12:01 PM PT/3:01 AM ET and will continue Through Wednesday, July 9th.
Like last year, Amazon is running a 48-hour sale in an attempt to kick off the holiday shopping season, giving Amazon Prime members another opportunity outside of Prime Day to save on everything from household items to everyday essentials. While we typically see the lowest sales prices on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon’s fall sales typically offer solid deals on a range of tech, including all-time low prices on Amazon devices and discounts from third-party sellers.
This time, Amazon said it will offer discounts of up to 55% on some Amazon devices, including security cameras such as Blink Outdoor 4, Fire TV, Eero mesh Wi-Fi systems, and controllers for the cloud gaming service Luna. You can also expect to see deals from independent sellers and a variety of non-Amazon brands — including LEGO, Fujifilm, Samsung, Beats, and more — some of which will be available in the lead-up to the event. Amazon will also run exclusive promotions on a variety of digital goods and services, including Grub Hub Plus and Amazon Music, the latter of which will be free to new subscribers for a limited time.
Of course, the big caveat with Prime Big Deal Days is that most deals require an Amazon Prime subscription to complete, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. That said, not all deals require a membership, and we’ll likely see similar sales at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and other retailers looking to compete with Amazon’s fall sales.
Like Amazon Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days will take place in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden, and a few other regions around the world (Amazon will also do so in Japan later in October). As usual, we’ll be marking the best deals on TVs, laptops, noise-canceling headphones and other tech products ahead of the main event on October 8, so be sure to keep an eye on all our deal coverage for a closer look at Amazon now Some products.
