Episode 11 2.5 Three-dimensional temptation managed to hit the emotional target that last week’s episode struggled to find.
It’s a better attempt at humanizing and contextualizing the actor’s thought process. Nagomi did a great job this week, overcoming a few obstacles. It’s fair to say that she was struggling with a lot of heavy mental and emotional baggage, from her feelings of isolation and inadequacy to how she believed others viewed her. The biggest payoff moment is when she breaks down and comes to terms with the reality of her perception versus how people treat her, which is awesome.
The reason it’s so successful is because of the universal application of the lessons Nagomi learned. This situation is unique to Nagomi as a famous figure. role player who feel isolated. But her broader concerns about how others view her are relevant to all of us. Frankly, online reviews are just as important as how people treat you in real life. I’m not saying that online events aren’t authentic or impactful – they are! – But context matters. For a few, it’s easy to ruin anyone’s day by spreading strong negative emotions online from a distance. In real life, most people you interact with are not that strong or negative (for the most part). Take a moment in our own lives to evaluate how people treat us in all aspects, rather than focusing on some comment made in a digital space by someone we have never met, may never have, and may not , which helps if they stand four feet in front of us, creates friction.
Additionally, this episode had great fighting game references that brought me huge joy. Well done, team.
