one HasbroThe crown jewel properties, Transformersis 40 years old this year. Since Paramount Pictures launched the live-action series in 2007, Robots in Drag was reborn in the 2000s and has never really left us. Between the many different animated shows on the air and the endless stream of new toys every month, one place where Transformers might be cooling off is in the movies. the last movie, Transformers: Rise of the Beastdid not achieve the results that people expected, and with the live-action movie in an undecided state, Transformers One It might show up at the perfect time. Transformers One has Chris Hemsworth Voiced by Orion Pax/Optimus Prime Brian Tyree Henry Voiced as an early friend of D-16/Megatron, showing their eventual differences and becoming the leaders of two different sides in the Cybertronian Civil War that lasted millions of years. Josh Cooley It’s the director and the script is Eric Pearson, Andrew Burroughand Gabriel Ferrari. Most importantly, I think they’ve done a great job here, both tapping into the nostalgia of older fans and making something fun for newer kids, probably their first Transformers movie. This movie is supposed to be a live-action version of the character’s origins, not some version of an earlier version that has been told before in many different media. With that, there was a lot of talk about Prime, and as someone who knows most of it from the first generation comics, I just sat in my seat and shrugged. The most interesting thing about this movie is the arc between the characters and our two leads. The most dynamic one is D-16 from Megatron, you see him start out as a kind robot who wants to do his job and hang out with his friends, and then completely transform into this horrific warlord, which is completely believable. Like all interpretations, Orion is kind and naive, making for the perfect intellectual hero. Alita and Bumblebee have barely changed at all. To me, Alita is the character who needs it the most because she’s pretty much a blank slate in history and is the Prime Minister’s girlfriend/wife/partner. I don’t really know what to say about the romantic relationships in Transformers. None of that is included here, as she’s a tough Johnson female character who’s mostly annoyed by her less-intelligent male teammates. As I said before, I wish there were more.

Industrial Light & Magic (Industrial Light & Magic) animated the film, which is their second film outside of Industrial Light & Magic this year. The Rise of Ultraman For Netflix. While they’re primarily known for film visual effects, it’s a welcome sight to see them branch out into animated feature films this year. They chose to give the character an appearance that was reminiscent of the first generation appearance of Transformers, which was the visual aesthetic of the early Japanese anime Super Robots. Orion and D-16 have clear, smooth faces, and animations that convey the vocal performances well are what I was most interested in following. The overall design of Cybertron is good; while not as imaginative as the machine world, in my opinion, its potential is never realized. Jon Hamm’s voice work here is so much fun that I don’t want to say too much about it. Laurence Fishburne It’s a surprise, please pay attention Steve Buscemi For a pretty good casting.

and Transformers OneIt’s great to see Transformers back in animated form and more accessible to general audiences than the live-action films of the last 20 years. While it uses nostalgia to draw people into the film, it probably won’t make every die-hard fan happy. It feels like a fresh start and a good movie; while it’s not something everyone needs to see in a theater, it’s worth seeing if you like properties.
