Gamers, look at this. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core processor is 63% off on Amazon, selling for just $170. If you’re building your first gaming computer, let me just say it’s not as difficult as it looks. Once you find all the pieces you need for the budget you want to spend, just put them together. There are tons of videos on YouTube that will tell you what to do if you’re nervous about this.

No, the hardest part is actually the first part – finding the parts you need for the budget you want to spend. If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, there are plenty of options with specs that are difficult to decipher.

Don’t worry because this is part of the plan for you. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor may be a few years old at this point, but it still packs a punch and you should still be able to run most new versions without any issues. Can you play the new one? Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 300 frames per second at 4K Ultra settings? Won’t.

If you’re primarily an indie gamer, you’re unlikely to feel any noticeable difference.

    Specification? Let’s talk specs

The number of CPU cores is 8, the number of execution threads is 16, and the basic clock frequency is 3.8 GHz. This way, you won’t have a problem reaching over 1000 frames per second in most AAA games. It’s overclocked so you can boot it up to 4.7 GHz for better performance in gaming and encoding high-resolution video for high-quality streaming.

You can also install the AMD Ryzen Master utility for instant access to temperatures, fan speeds, memory timings, core voltages, and CPU frequencies. You can even set up different profiles that can be easily switched and optimized for the task at hand.

When the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor was first released, it sold for $449. Currently, you can buy it on Amazon for just $166 , saving 63%, and get yourself a perfectly usable gaming computer today. To be fair, it hasn’t seen a full price tag in years, but its price drops do fluctuate. As recently as July, it cost over $200. So at $166 it’s not a bad budget choice for starting your PC gaming journey.
