Blizzard is teaming up with Blizzard to celebrate World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary with some Strike Force 2 skins

Blizzard is celebrating the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft this year, and to that end, it’s working with itself to add some World of Warcraft skins to Strike Force 2.

Collaboration is all the rage these days for live-service games, but it can be a little fun when developers do it themselves – which is exactly what Blizzard has done with its latest game. This coming November marks the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft (I’m so sorry to those of you who immediately feel old), so Blizzard has released a fun little trailer announcing the MMO’s partnership with the developer Cooperation with another major work, Overwatch. You can check out the trailer below, which is framed like a theme park ride, which is almost certainly a reference to fan-favorite map Blizzard World, which is a map based on, well, you guessed it, a theme park.

“Join the celebration as Strike Force 2 and World of Warcraft unite the worlds to create a legendary crossover event!” reads the trailer’s description. “Choose to represent the Horde or Alliance, and Strike Force’s powerful heroes will pay homage to iconic figures from the world of Azeroth.” That means you’ll be able to get four skins when the collaboration launches on September 17th, including Reinhardt plays the Lich King, Widowmaker plays Sylvanas Windrunner, Torbjörn plays Magni Bronzebeard, and Zenyatta plays Thrall.

This World of Warcraft collaboration is part of Strike Force 2 Season 12, which introduces the game’s newest support hero Juno, as well as some new maps and Clash modes launched last month. No other information has been revealed about the collaboration, nor whether it’s going to be more than just skins, although considering it’s kicking off within two days of writing this, you probably shouldn’t bet on anything other than skins if It’s just too much to go up if your hopes don’t come true.
