Last week, the Flappy Bird Foundation announced a game called fluttery bird. But while the team has always viewed it as a triumphant return of a classic mobile game, fluttery birdOriginal developer Dong Nguyen doesn’t consider this a return – in fact, he says he’s not involved in it at all.

Nguyen posted as much on X this morning (for the first time since 2017!), saying he wasn’t “selling anything.” In an announcement shared with the media last week, the Flappy Bird Foundation wrote that it had “acquired the rights from Gametech Holdings, LLC,” the company that had acquired the trademark from Nguyen, but this does not appear to be the result of any other action .

The Flappy Bird Foundation didn’t mention Nguyen’s involvement in its statement, but it’s certainly leaning toward nostalgia when promoting the game. More than half of the game’s first trailer dwells on the game’s rise in popularity and the disappointment of its sudden disappearance in 2013, before announcing that “in 2024, Flappy Bird will fly again.”

As for the encryption part of the puzzle, cybersecurity researcher Varun Biniwale points out the fluttery bird The website suggests that such a component may be present in the game’s release. A page that appears to have been deleted (and archived here) said fluttery bird will “fly higher than ever as Solana flies toward Web 3.0” and invites players to “build, create, play and hold.”

at present, fluttering bird It’s listed as coming soon to iOS and Android. Just don’t expect it to be fluttery bird You know – that seems to be gone just like before.
