Warner Bros. is already developing a sequel to the hit Harry Potter-themed video game Hogwarts Legacythe project is one of the studio’s top priorities.
I’m still playing the first game and so far, for me, there’s no ending in sight. I’m taking my time with this game, so I’m in no rush to play the sequel.
Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Financial Officer Gunnar Widenfels said at Bank of America’s recent Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference that the game is only a few years away from release.
He said: “Clearly the successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most important priorities over the next few years. So it will certainly make a significant contribution to growth. [games] Business in our strategic outlook.
Obviously, there aren’t any details to share, but it will obviously be set in Hogwarts, and I’m sure it will involve a bunch of new challenges and storylines for players to experience in different time periods.
“Hogwarts Legacy” is set in the 1800s. “Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that could tear the wizarding world apart.
“You were admitted late into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and it soon became apparent that you were no ordinary student: you had the extraordinary ability to perceive and master ancient magic.
“Only you can decide whether to protect this secret for the benefit of all, or to succumb to the temptations of a more sinister magic.”
