One of the most beloved New Mutants in X-Men history, the Soul Sword-wielding and magic-wielding mutant will get his own series starting this January. Written by X-Men: Bloodhunt – Magik creator Ashley Allen and drawn by artist star Peralta, Germany, Fans are looking forward to not only her collection, but also Magik’s demonic Darkchylde designs.
“I’m so excited to be back writing Illyana!” said Allen. “Supernatural stories with protagonists with a heart of gold are my favorite, so writing this series is a dream! I can’t wait for readers to experience the adventures as we take Magik to slay some demons…and maybe take on her own Some demon.
“I’m very excited about this project,” Peralta shared. “Magik is a character with an incredible background, surrounded by darkness and mystery. Additionally, all versions of her are visually spectacular and I personally love Chris Bachalo’s designs. I really enjoy drawing the action scenes, as well as emotionally driven scenes, Ashley Allen wrote a super fun script, and she balanced both types of situations to make my job more interesting than it already was. I mean, what artist doesn’t love to draw. How about the magician facing various demons with a big sword?

This January, mutant icon Magik headlines her first ongoing solo series! The X-Men’s resident sorcerer will unleash her sword of the soul, spells, and dark side against a mysterious threat to the mutant community.
MAGIK will be created by rising star Ashley Allen, who debuted on X-Men: Bloodhunt – Magik, Painted by renowned artist Germán Peralta, known for his recent works black panther and last year’s Loki series. From Colossus’ little sister to the New Mutants, Illyana Rasputina has climbed the ranks over the years to become the most ferocious X-Men, and her long-awaited solo adventure will allow her to unleash her mystique like never before Feats and unique mutant magic.
A mysterious mutant hunts demons in her own series! X-Men Illyanna Rasputina strikes out on her own as new allies and dark forces attack her. Something ancient has awakened beneath the Alaskan ice. Unfortunately, that’s Magik territory now!
Throughout the series, Magik will also be forced to come to terms with her tragic history and learn to control her demonic Darkchylde persona. After years of repression, Illyana’s Darkchild form returns from the depths of her tortured soul, providing her with more strength and power, but at what cost?
