Astro Bot has delighted many players with all its cameos and references, and it seems there are more to come.
For better or worse, Astro Bot is essentially a thick love letter to PlayStation games of the past, though it does feature a plethora of characters that aren’t unique to the platform (although often have strong ties to it). There are tons of guest characters in the game, from classics like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, to the latest Sony hits like God of War. As spotted by VGC, the game’s credits list thanks to developers as diverse as Konami and Sega for their respective appearances in Astro Bot. Oddly, there are also a few mentioned that don’t appear in the game as cameos.

For example, Ubisoft is credited in the credits of titles such as Assassin’s Creed, Beyond Good and Evil, and Rayman, none of which appear in Astro Bot in any form. This also applies to other games, such as recent exclusives Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, as well as classics like Croc and Worms. It’s also worth noting that you can import four additional guest robots from Astro’s Game Room, but these four have nothing to do with the aforementioned game.
As VGC points out, this content will most likely come in the form of DLC, as Team Asobi plans to offer some content in the form of new challenge levels and a speedrun mode. It’s possible that these cameos originally appeared in the game but were removed for unspecified reasons, but it would be a bit odd to include them in the credits. Regardless, DLC is coming, and it’s an exciting prospect for those who still love 100% platforming.
