While it’s not finalized yet, it sounds like Josh Brolin has been tapped to play Hal Jordan in DC Studios’ Green Lantern show.
We already have a little idea of what James Gunn is up to in the new DCU through Superman set photos and the trailer for the upcoming Biocommando , but as with most of the ongoing projects That said, there isn’t much certainty. Earlier this year, Lost creator Damon Lindelof, Ozark showrunner and comic book writer Tom King joined Lanterns as writers, but now It’s obviously too early to put forward any ideas about casting. But now, according to a report from Nexus Point News , the casting process appears to be at least underway, as Thanos and Cable himself have apparently been tapped to play the role of Hal Jordan.

It’s worth noting that he’s reportedly not yet accepted the role, so he may not end up joining the series. According to Nexus Point News, this version of Hal Jordan will be a Lantern legend and veteran member of the Legion. This is consistent with previous reports – the show is expected to follow Hal Jordan Sr. and new Legion member John Stewart (who is also a favorite among fans who grew up on the Justice League animated series). It’s explained like this: “Two intergalactic police officers become entangled in a dark, Earth-based mystery while investigating a murder in America’s heartland.”
Brolin will obviously bring a sizable bonus to the show (which technically wasn’t officially greenlit by HBO until June (pardon the pun)) and will show that Gunn and co. are committed to Get big names for your TV series. Don’t expect to see this one just yet, though, as first is Creature Squad in December, followed by Gunn’s own Superman next year.
