Stage Musical Official Website Naoshi Arakawaof April is your lie (Zhiyue is your Uso) manga announced Thursday that the new season of the musical will be released in Japan in August and September 2025. The show will be held at the Hitomi Memorial Hall of Showa Women’s University, before moving to Aichi Prefecture and Osaka in September, and to Toyama in October.

Frank Wildhorn, an American composer best known for songs sung by Whitney Houston (“Where Have the Broken Hearts Gone?”), composed the musical Soundtrack. Nokaku has also scored before Musical “Death Note”and is a Broadway veteran, having starred in hit musicals such as Jekyll and Hyde and Scarlet Pimpernel.
Tracy Miller Schell and Carly Robyn Green co-wrote the lyrics with Wildhorn. Composer Jason Holland (Highlights: The Carole King Musical, Jekyll and Hyde) Responsible for the arrangement and orchestration of musicals. Riko Sakaguchi (The Story of Princess Kaguya, Mary and the Witch’s Flower) wrote the original Japanese book for the musical, which was adapted into English by Rinne Goff. Ikko Ueda translated and directed the play.
The show’s London run ends on Sunday, August 11, instead of September 21 as previously announced.
A version of the stage musical was previously performed in Tokyo from May 7 to 29, 2022.
Arakawa’s original manga tells the story of Kosei Arima, a former child prodigy who lost his ability to play the piano after his mother died. His daily life is monochromatic, but when he meets a female violinist by chance, it starts to become colorful. Kaori Miyazono is a bold, capable and full of personality. When Kaori invites him to accompany her at a competition, Kōsei becomes fascinated by the girl and begins to rediscover his love for the piano.
The comic first appeared on Kodanshaof Monthly Shonen Magazine Published in 2011 and ended in February 2015. KodanshaThe 37th Annual Comic Awards in 2013. Kodansha Comics The manga was published in North America, with its 11th and final volume released in December 2018.
Arakawa Manga’s TV anime series premiered in 2014 and is produced by Animation A-1 pictures. The manga has also been adapted into a live-action movie, which was released in Japan in September 2016.
