William Tell.
An attempt to turn the story of a Swiss folk hero into a historical epic ends up being rather bland. There is still a lot of preparation work this There’s that moment – you know, Tyre (played by Claes Bang) shooting an apple from his son’s head – but once it’s over, so does the momentum of the movie. Even though it’s a film filled with gore and grime, it’s too clean, following a strict formula with daring heroes, cartoonish villains, rousing speeches, and fights that are as unmistakable as an arrow in an apple.
