Remember “Bright”? Everyone believed that those alien guys from the first Hellraiser were going to burst into Hellraiser 2 through the black hole Meridian had turned into a few months earlier through the power of the super-Earth. Well, it looks like they just made a brief cameo on the game map.
As players on Reddit discovered, a portion of the lower portion of the Galaxy map briefly turned purple yesterday, indicating it was controlled by a force other than Automaton or Terminator, before returning to normal.

Naturally, one can only come to one conclusion – the light suddenly appears, and they are clearly fans of hide and seek. Especially since at least one of the occupied areas looks a lot like the illuminated sign when highlighted.
Arrowhead disagrees with that assessment, however. “Fake News,” CEO Shams Jorjani tweeted, and an in-game message posted after the purple zone disappeared offered a completely reasonable explanation for the incident.
“Some Helldivers may have noticed a recent service outage on large order communications monitors,” it wrote. “This issue has been resolved.

“Cause: Degradation of organic tissue on electronic equipment. Discussion: Communications. Technician #R-2342 trapped in a server farm. Cause of death: Exposure. Solution: Replacement of electronic equipment. Family of deceased to be fined for damage.” This is The report ends with a story that the studio seems to be sticking to.
Whether you believe this or not is up to you, and some players seem to have written an article-length post explaining why they actually think this is just a ruse suggested by Arrowhead. Then again, considering how many of these jokes are likely to be genuine mistakes by the developers and then integrated into Helldivers kayfabe, there’s always the possibility that this faction is on the horizon.
