DC Comics fans got a trailer biocommando San Diego Comic-Con in July; now we know for sure that the animated series that will officially kick off James Gunn’s DC reign will hit theaters on Thursday, December 5. , seven episodes in total.
A press release announcing the date—accompanied by the sizzling new photos you see here—reiterated the official slogan: “biocommando Track a secret team of imprisoned monsters recruited to carry out missions too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they are your last and worst option.
It also features the cast: Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Cha Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Frau Sr. Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as Special Forces and Weasel, David Harbor as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma plays the bride and Viola Davis plays Amanda Waller.
The series is written by Gunn, who is also one of the show’s executive producers and one of the people overseeing this new chapter for DC (along with Peter Safran). He shared his excitement for the show and DC’s future in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He has his own live version superman The film, of course, is due out next summer and he describes it as “a huge epic”. biocommandoIn contrast, it’s more of a “way for people to eat just a little bit” [of the new DC universe] See how it tastes.
In the interview, he compared biocommando his marvel trilogy Guardians of the Galaxy movie; you can see the similarities just from the official logline, and Gunn agrees that he’s a fan of “weird people, irregular types, and weirdos.” (Not like his either suicide squad Movie characters, think about it. ) However, there is a key difference: “Guardians are inherently very good characters, but creatures are not necessarily.”
