“Starfighter 2” Pre-Order Guide – Discounts, Steel Boxes, Official Merchandise, and More

After 13 years of waiting, the sequel to Starfighter is almost here. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches tomorrow, September 5, for players who purchase the Gold or Ultra editions of PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC. The Standard Edition will be launched on Monday, September 9th. The console version of Starfighter 2 is $10 more expensive than the PC version. The gap is actually wider now, as Fanatical is discounting Steam keys for all three editions ahead of launch.

If you’re not sure whether to buy the long-awaited sequel, we gave it an 8/10 in our review of Starfighter 2 , calling it “a worthy successor to the 2011 original.” We still need to spend some time digging into the PvP while the multiplayer servers are active before completing our review, but the hack-and-slash combat is satisfying and the vast world is well designed.

If you’re waiting until the Standard Edition is released to start playing, you can still dive into the world of Space Marines this weekend with Game Workshop’s official board game. This two-player asymmetric strategy game features the same cover art as Starfighter 2, but it’s a fast-paced asymmetric strategy game. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 Pre-Order Bonuses

All pre-orders of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 come with the Macragge’s Choice DLC. You’ll get three additional cosmetics for the Bolt Rifle, Chain Sword, and Power Armor.

$60-$70

The standard version of Starfighter 2 includes the base game and the aforementioned pre-order bonus, and is priced at $60-$70. Physical versions of the PS5 and Xbox Series X can be pre-ordered for $70 at several major retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy.

The PC version of Starfighter 2 costs $60, but you can get it for less by pre-ordering a Steam key from Fanatical.

$90-$100 |Includes iron box

Starfighter 2 Gold Edition is available for $90 on PC and $100 on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. The physical version comes with a steel box with exclusive artwork (pictured above). Both physical and digital editions come with pre-order bonuses and two noteworthy perks:

• Four days of early access starting September 5th
• Season Pass (unlocks new chapter champions, skins, weapons and armor)

The PC Gold Edition is also discounted on Fanatical, bringing the price down from $90 to $79.19.

$100-$110

The Ultra Edition includes all the content from the Gold Edition and Ultramarines Champions Pack, including unique Power Armor and Heavy Bolter skins. The Ultra Edition of Starfighter 2 is only available digitally and costs $10 more than the Gold Edition. The console version is priced at $110 and the PC version is priced at $100.

PC players can save another $12 on the Ultra version at Fanatical, bringing the price down to $88.

The Star Marine 2 Collector’s Edition includes everything in the lower-priced version plus the following:

• Collectible box filled with exclusive artwork
• Lieutenant Titus Statue (8.25 x 6.7 inches resin statue)
