Luca Guadagnino’s works sprung up at the Venice Film Festival Queer There was a lot of love at the film’s world premiere on Tuesday night. In particular, the audience at the Grand Hall was fascinated by star Daniel Craig, who shed his James Bond persona to star opposite Drew Starkey. Playing a provocative and challenging role opposite him, he also won cheers from the audience, including Pedro Almodovar.
The Spanish director, who is also in competition at Venice with the hit drama “The Room Next Door,” sat opposite Guadagnino and his cast. He hugged them one by one during a long standing ovation. Craig’s wife, Rachel Weisz, who appeared emotional several times, stood up, smiled and shouted in unison with the crowd.
The world premiere ended with a 9.5-minute standing ovation and marked the Italian director’s triumphant return to the Lido following his sexy tennis drama challengerLast year, the opening film for “Venice” was forced to pull out due to delays caused by a Hollywood actors’ strike. Based on the novel by William S. 135 minutes Queer The film, from Fremantle and Frenesy Film Company, will be distributed by A24 and features a list of boldface collaborators. Oscar-winning team Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provided the score, and Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson served as costume designer. Maybe it was Anderson’s involvement, or just the fact that Tuesday’s world premiere of the hit new film was a fashionable night at the Lido, with some of the film’s stars wearing Loewe clothes, including Craig, He went viral for his designs earlier this summer.
