Oh my gosh, it’s happened again. The war between cheaters and the anti-cheating software of “The Final Hour” has begun again. This time, the battle revolves around the beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Early testing of Activision Blizzard’s independently developed Ricochet anti-cheat software is underway and it is trying to eliminate cheaters as much as possible.
However, as is the way with such things, cheaters are working hard to find ways around such measures. There have been clips of cheating in beta matches, but currently bans are implemented quickly whenever suspicious players are reported.

For those who don’t know, there will be a back and forth between the reign of cheaters and massive waves of bans. While the Ricochet anti-cheat team collects data, logs cheating accounts, and updates software to combat current workarounds, cheaters tend to go crazy. This subsequently led to a massive wave of bans, resulting in the vast majority of cheaters being banned while the game was relatively enjoyable while cheat developers struggled to find new workarounds. This is the cycle of life in CoD, and it touches us all.
Currently, the beta is relatively free of cheating, but you can expect that to gradually change over time. Thankfully, since the beta’s runtime is short, it shouldn’t be too bad. This cycle is expected to kick off in a big way when the game launches properly. The Ricochet team has released an update stating that tweaks and tweaks to anti-cheat are currently being made, which is good news for the health of the game for the foreseeable future.
Call of Duty: Vanguard and Modern Warfare II suffered the same fate when it came to cheating. That’s the way it is! So, have fun while the cheaters are at a disadvantage, and pray that Team Ricochet stays strong in the coming months.
