Elon Musk’s X is now banned in Brazil
While the Supreme Court of a large country banning a social network sounds a bit excessive (as if such a thing could happen here), the story of how it happened does not cast X and Musk in a positive light. The Brazilian government ordered the site to stop publishing false information, which Musk called “censorship,” and things ultimately escalated from there. On Wednesday, X (who had closed its Brazilian operations earlier this year) was ordered by Brazil to appoint a legal representative in the country within 24 hours; X failed to do so. Therefore, X is now banned in Brazil.
If you try to get around this ban, you’ll have to pay the price. Be careful.
